In true entrepreneurial style, realtors literally risk everything because they believe they can earn a living by helping others get results. And unless they can get results that are satisfactory to their client, they simply don’t get paid!
Consider these facts you may not have known about realtors:
Realtors are paid on a straight commission basis. That means no regular paycheck each week even if they put in 60 hours of hard work. They are paid only upon completion of a real estate settlement in which their client’s needs have been served.
Realtors have no expense account. Each individual agent pays his or her own personal expenses. There is no reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses.
Realtors have no "draw account" to help them pay their bills until the next commission check is earned. Only when a transaction is completed is a paycheck earned.
Not only does each realtor have to pay personal expenses, but there is a constant stream of business expenses as well, such as multiple listing fees and advertising fees.
